The Payroll/Commissions Specialist responsibilities include processing multiple payrolls for 500-600 employees in a multi-state environment and producing standard and ad hoc payroll reports.


  • Process multi-state, semi-monthly payroll utilizing one payroll system (ADP Workforce Now) with strict adherence to deadlines
  • Process semi-monthly Canadian payroll
  • Review all personnel changes entered from HR and process all other payroll-related changes directly in ADP Workforce Now
  • Import and review monthly commission and bonus payments
  • Process and manager ADP Time Off
  • Import and review expense reimbursement, including expat expenses, from expense reporting system (Concur) to payroll system
  • Review all changes input into the payroll system based on edit reports and maintain evidence that those changes are timely, accurate, complete and properly authorized
  • Provide supporting documents and reports for the semi-monthly payroll journal entries, vacation accruals and benefit allocations
  • Monitor compliance with federal and state payroll tax laws and regulations, as well as state unemployment insurance tax requirements; work with Accounting and Legal departments to resolve issues
  • Process manual check payments as needed
  • Process wage garnishments and ensure compliance with responses and payments
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive payroll information
  • Work with Human Resources to resolve payroll issues
  • Escalate issues as necessary to manager
  • Create ad-hoc payroll reports for management systems
  • Assist in the administration of expense reporting system

  • Experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, etc. required
  • Multi-state payroll experience required
  • ADP Workforce Now processing with reporting experience required
  • Experience with Concur a plus
  • Experience with expat payroll a plus
  • Physical presence required in the office during normal business hours and occasionally outside of normal business hours
  • Latitude for independent judgment


  • Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience
