Job Description

The HCM Consultant will be responsible for ensuring the successful implementation of the Workday's Payroll solution. The HCM Consultant will provide Workday product and implementation expertise to their engagements. The Consultant will work with their clients to understand their business requirements and help configure and test the Workday solution. The Consultant will take direction and provide status to the Project Manager assigned to their project.


  • Become an expert in the Workday HCM product suite.

  • Perform the following on an engagement: understand goals of the project, configure the Workday solution, educate the client on configuration, assist the client in testing the Workday solution and advise on advanced configuration topics.

  • Understand Workday Implementation Methodology and use it on all engagements

  • Ensure the client takes advantage of Workday best practices

  • Deliver high customer satisfaction on every engagement

  • Participate in update training and other events that help share one's product skills with other consultants

  • Help mentor new consultants

  • Advise client on historical data conversion best practices and support the data conversion consultants

  • Assist the integration consulting team in helping to configure and test integrations between Workday and third party/custom solutions

  • Work collaboratively with deployment team and project management


  • 3+ years consulting experience with a software company or experience as a Payroll practitioner for small and medium sized businesses

  • Experience implementing and/or supporting HCM applications, desired areas of expertise include Core HCM/Payroll/Absence and Time Tracking. 

  • Contribute on 2-3 projects simultaneously

  • Passion for customer service

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to learn technology quickly through instruction and self-training.

  • Experience with financial and/or payroll applications a plus

  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time

  • Bachelor degree required.
