Overview of Job
A librarian manages and organizes library resources, helps patrons find information, and develops programs to support learning and research. Their role involves collecting, organizing, cataloging, and issuing resources, as well as providing reference and research assistance. They may also be responsible for managing databases, overseeing staff, and implementing new technologies.
Experience /Qualifications
A typical librarian job description requires a Master's degree in Library Science (MLS) or equivalent, strong knowledge of library systems, cataloging standards, and information retrieval, along with experience in customer service and collaboration.
