Summary of Position
This individual will coordinate and implement a growing comprehensive endowment stewardship program, including but not limited to tracking spending from endowed funds, preparing annual financial and impact reports, and planning individual and group events to thank and engage donors.

General Purpose of Position
The Coordinator of Donor Relations—Endowments coordinates and implements a comprehensive endowment stewardship program for a growing number of funds and donors, including but not limited to preparing annual financial and impact reports, planning and executing individual and group events to thank and engage donors, and maintaining records of named spaces and donor recognition installations on campus.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain a thorough working knowledge of the university’s 900+ endowed funds, as well as a number of restricted annual funds
  • Serve as a primary contact within University Advancement for donors, faculty, and staff with questions concerning endowments, sercuring financial information as needed from the Office of Accounting
  • Serve as a primary contact with beneficiaries of endowed and restricted annual funds, including scholarship and internship recipients, professorship holders, department chairs, and program managers
  • Maintain fund information and endowment report records in The Raiser’s Edge, eDocs, the Donor Relations shared drive, and Outlook
  • Coordinate and maintain records of named spaces and their donors in The Raiser’s Edge and photographs of the plaques and signage in the Donor Relations shared drive
  • Collaborate with the Senior Director of Donor Relations to create combined financial and impact reports for endowments with living donors or their descendants
  • Collaborate with the Director of Presidential Stewardship to provide financial and impact information for enhanced endowment reports for principal donors
  • Collaborate with the Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations to provide financial and impact information for foundation reports
  • Collaborate with University Communications and Print Services to produce documents to be included in endowment reports, as well as special publications for select donors
  • Work closely with Financial Aid staff, Accounting staff, deans, and department chairs to ensure that scholarships are awarded as completely as possible each year according to donor directives
  • Promote communication between scholarship recipients and their benefactors
  • Assist in the planning and implementation of an annual campus gratitude event or series of events
  • Assist in the planning and implementation of Elon Day (annual day of giving)
  • Assist with major Donor Relations and University Advancement events and projects, including dedications, convocations, inaugurations, etc.
  • Cross-train with other members of the Donor Relations team
Education and Experience
Bachelors degree and 2-3 years of experience working in donor relations, preferably in higher ed. Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, Fundriver, eDocs, and Raiser’s Edge NXT preferred.
