Administrative Assistant for Public Utilities
The City of Detroit Lakes is seeking a Public Utility Administrative Assistant to perform varied and independent secretarial and administrative work within a large, diversified, high visibility Public Utility/City office. Performs considerable internal and external public contact work. Duties include various secretarial and administrative functions which require an extensive working knowledge of the organization and programs under the General Manager's jurisdiction. Emphasis is placed upon dealing with confidential and diplomatic matters requiring professionalism, tact, and confidentiality. We believe strongly in teamwork and employees will be called upon to perform a variety of duties as part of their role with the City of Detroit Lakes.
Minimum Qualifications: Associate degree or training in office procedures, bookkeeping, data processing, records management or related topics and three years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Other Requirements: Knowledge of principles, practices, trends and procedures of modern office administration and best practices; knowledge of accounting principles and practices; excellent oral and written communication skills; experience with confidentiality and strong computer skills.
The salary range is $49,192 to $60,715. Single Health Insurance premium paid by employer along with an employer H.S.A. contribution. PERA Pension Plan and paid Vacation and Sick Leaves.
