Job Description

The Human Resource Processing Specialist is a key member of the Human Resources team, providing second level employee service support to Site Human Resources and department heads. In this role you will assist in ensuring the efficient operation of the Human Resources department by researching complex policy, process and transactional questions. Responsibilities include:

  • Provides guidance and direction to the Human Resources Processing Assistant. Performs the duties of level I, when required.
  • Utilizes procedures, policy manuals, Collective Bargaining Unit Agreements Union Contracts (CBA's), knowledgebase and other reference materials to assist in addressing more complex, Site Human Resources or department head inquiries and resolving issues.
  • Communicates objectives, policies, procedures, and government regulations
  • Completes Human Resources, Benefits or Payroll related transactions that require a more specialized functional knowledge or deeper expertise in PeopleSoft.
  • Responds to complex questions and issues from the Employee Service Center (ESC) Customer Support Specialists; escalates questions and issues to team lead, strategy teams and Site Human Resources, as required.
  • Processes complex and non-routine transactions.
  • Suggests methods to update, streamline and enhance processes, procedures and technologies.
  • Populates the Human Resources Processing transaction database for each transaction request submitted.
  • Recommends updates to the knowledgebase as necessary.
  • Administers in-services/education sessions at the sites related to process updates or changes.


  • High School Degree or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum three (3) years' experience in Human Resources
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of one of the following: Human Resources, Benefits, and/or Payroll, required.
  • Must have strong computer skills and the ability to learn PeopleSoft Experience with PeopleSoft highly desired.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Customer service focus and strong interpersonal skills required.
