We're looking for a Compliance Product Manager experienced in Payroll Compliance (US/CAN) to join Workday's Payroll Product Management team. Someone who can help bring a new perspective and fresh ideas. As a Compliance Product Manager at Workday, you will assist with overall statutory compliance for both the US and Canadian Payroll plus help product managers define business requirements and product design recommendations. The ideal person for this position should have extensive experience in ongoing US and/or CAN Payroll Statutory Compliance as well as working with one or more payroll systems. As part of the Compliance organization, you will also work closely with other Product Managers/Product Owners to ensure features are compliant.

Responsibilities:

  • Research, review, and confirm payroll legislative changes.
  • Evaluate, monitor, and approve compliance standards for USA and Canada payroll product to ensure the features are compliant with regulatory agencies.
  • Initiate, develop, and strengthen relationships with regulatory agencies, industry groups to remain aware of the evolving legal landscape related to payroll.
  • Consult with legal counsel when necessary to address conflicting legal compliance issues.
  • Work closely with Product Management to ensure full understanding of legislative changes.
  • Write detailed functional requirements including use case documentation.
  • Prepare, and work with internal auditors through out the SOC1 audit process.
  • Create presentations and demos to help train additional teams on new statutory regulations.
  • Be a point of contact for internal teams such as consultants, internal payroll partners, production support, and documentation.
  • Possible moderate travel required.

Experience, Skills & Education:

  • 8+ years monitoring statutory requirements for US and/or CAN payroll solutions (payroll taxes (employee and employer), income withholding orders, minimum wage, etc.).
  • Previous experience in similar Payroll Compliance or Legal Business Analyst role, preferred.
  • BA/BS or MS in related degree, or equivalent experience.
  • CPP preferred.
  • You should have the ability to convert legislative requirements to functional requirements and ensure changes are implemented timely and accurately.
  • Tax Filing is a plus.
  • Required characteristics: fast learner, detail oriented, decisive, and enjoy fast paced work environments.
  • Must work well within and across teams to meet goals and objectives.
